One week after the 40 year designer was found dead in his apartment, the fashion world continues to mourn the loss of a genius. Yet, in an announcement made today, the Alexander McQueen collection will be shown in the upcoming Paris Fashion Week in March. The Gucci Group, which has owned McQ Labels since December 2000 will continue to be the financers of the brand, though future plans after the release of the fall collection are unknown.

McQueen, born in London, was best known for his shock-tactics and his innovative, unconventional designs. He was the head designer at Givenchy for five years prior to the founding of his personal label, McQ. He designed many dramatic outfits for Lady Gaga, yet his celebrity patrons list was extensive including Penelope Cruz, Rihanna, Sarah Jessica Parker, as well as Björk.

McQueen's constant groundbreaking style, present in both his designs and his elaborate runway shows, will make his loss more than just a tragedy, but the end of an era.
